The Sacred: Weight of What Remains collection is an exploration within my art through letters, and documents involving my female ancestors. I feel called to share my origin story and the skills I have learned from these women, making this a shared experience of knowledge as it is passed down from one generation to the next. By bringing these images and stories into public view, the weight is lifted from my shoulders and offered to the community, where memory can be held collectively rather than privately. In this way, these women are remembered and honored for future generations.
